The Armenian Graduate Students' Association of USC was permanently established on May 19, 2002 in Glendale, CA, and officially recognized by USC as a student organization on August 22, 2002 at the inauguration of the Fall 2002 semester. The executive board consists of 10 executives. Various Armenian graduate student groups from different departments at USC have had associations of sorts from time to time, but never before has there been a permanent all-encompassing association that includes graduate students from all departments and programs in its affairs and activities. USC has the largest absolute number of graduate students of Armenian extraction of any institution of higher learning in the Western Hemisphere, and this number is expected to further increase as the Armenian community in Los Angeles establishes itself with yet firmer roots in the coming decades. Hence the importance of the permanent establishment of our organization is vividly clear. Our intentions as an association are as follows:
- To create a lasting social, academic, and professional network for graduate students;
- To organize social events such that graduate students and young professionals of all southern California colleges and universities can meet and bond;
- To organize cultural activities in the public eye so as to increase exposure and validity to causes and interests important to the Armenian community;
- To serve the wider Armenian community by organizing fundraisers, campaigns, and initiatives to benefit the Republic of Armenia as well as our communities in the Diaspora.

I wish to extend a very warm welcome to all Armenian graduate students attending the University of Southern California. I am particularly delighted that we are fortunate to have several dedicated graduate students who have come forward to revive AGSA and expand its reach to Armenian graduate students enrolled in the various departments and professional schools of the University. As Faculty Advisor, I would like to greet all of AGSA's new members and welcome them aboard! Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance.

Dear USC AGSA friends,
On behalf of the executive board, I am pleased to welcome you to another great year! This is USC AGSA’s sixth year, and thanks to the tireless devotion of our past executives and your steadfast support, the AGSA has grown to be a vital student-run organization in the Armenian community. Through AGSA events, thousands of Armenian young professionals and graduate students have come together to make new friends, network and fundraise thousands of dollars for many worthy causes. This year is no different. 2008 will be filled with even more networking, academic and social events. I encourage you to take part in as many you can. As always, the executive board is here to serve you and we welcome your comments and ideas. This is YOUR AGSA!
Here is to a phenomenal year ahead!
